Vice President, Senior Treaty Underwriter at Swiss Re

Tom Smith has over 30 years of property experience – both primary and reinsurance.  He started his career with the Factory Mutual Group and has spent the past 20+ years in a senior underwriting position at both GE/ERC and Swiss Re. He is responsible for underwriting a large, diverse portfolio of treaty business at Swiss Re. This includes traditional Per Risk, Quota Share and CAT XOL business as well as more innovative, structured solutions tailored for specific client needs.  
 
Tom has been with Swiss Re since the acquisition of GE Insurance Solutions in June of 2006. During his time with GEIS, Tom was a Senior Property Treaty Underwriter for the Global and National desk.  He also managed that team for several years.  
 
Tom received a bachelor's degree in Finance from Ithaca College in NY. He also earned his Law Degree from Quinnipiac College. Tom resides in Westhampton Beach, NY along with his wife and three daughters.
